Martyr Abdolqader: The Theorist of Islamic Asymmetric Warfare Tactics
webangah News Agency, International Desk: Ibrahim Mohammed Aqil, known as Haj Abdelkader, was born on December 24, 1962, in the town of Bdenayal in the Bekaa valley. He was the founder and commander of Hezbollah’s special Radwan unit. Martyr Abdelkader belonged to the generation that established Islamic activism in Beirut and emerged as a prominent leader in heroic operations against the Zionist regime’s invasion of Beirut in the early 1980s.
In the early 1990s, Haj Abdelkader took charge of Hezbollah’s central training department and played a key role in enhancing human capabilities within the resistance movement. By the mid-1990s, he was appointed head of Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance Headquarters.
From 1997 until after Israeli forces were expelled from southern Lebanon, Martyr Aqil commanded operations in Jabal Amel. He directly led many critical missions during that period. He founded Hezbollah’s Operations Branch and served as Deputy Operational Commander under Hezbollah’s Secretary-General starting in 2008 while also joining its Jihadi Council.
