Saudi Arabia Takes Convergent Stance Toward Lebanon’s Hezbollah
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Lebanon’s Al-Jadeed newspaper wrote in its latest issue that Yazid bin Farhan emphasized during a meeting with visitors that the blood of Shia Muslims is like that of Saudi citizens. He stressed that Saudi Arabia cannot be driven toward conflict with Lebanon.
Al-Jadeed added that Prince Yazid bin Farhan stated his country has adopted an open policy for dialogue-provided it takes place on a state-to-state basis and involves official Lebanese government institutions as representatives.
Bin Farhan highlighted the importance and role of Nabih Berri, head of Lebanon’s Shia parliamentarians. He spoke positively about thier ongoing relations and noted that rebuilding southern Lebanon will proceed through discussions with Nabih Berri as a lebanese statesman following steps to limit weapons.
He reiterated, “The blood of Shia is like the blood of Saudis,” affirming that Saudi Arabia seeks no conflict in Lebanon but rather aims to support rebuilding its government and nation.
