Eighthieth United Nations General Assembly Opens
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RIA Novosti, the United Nations General Assembly has officially commenced.
This marks the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
During this meeting, senior officials from various countries will present their views on multiple global issues.
The recognition of Palestine as an autonomous state by many countries is also expected to be discussed at this session.
The annual assembly gathers heads of state and government at the UN headquarters. This year’s session runs from September 23 to 29 under the theme: Together Better: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development, and Human Rights.
The presidency is held by Annalena Baerbock, former German Foreign Minister.
Approximately 150 heads of states and governments, vice presidents, ministers, accompanying officials, thousands of diplomats, civil society activists, and journalists are participating in this year’s assembly.
