Trump’s Deceptive Peace Plan for the Gaza Strip
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, Axios reported based on american and Arab sources that U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to present his proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza and the future governance of the Strip during a meeting wiht Arab and Islamic leaders today,Tuesday.
The report states that this meeting will discuss the so-called regional peace plan with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
the agenda includes examining Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza and establishing a management framework for the Strip after the conflict without Hamas’s involvement.
The sources added that the U.S. aims to convince these countries to participate in sending forces to Gaza to assist in governing alongside financial support for reconstruction efforts.
This comes while the United States vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution aimed at halting warfare in Gaza despite support from 14 countries. It is indeed noteworthy that even though Trump has fully backed Israel, he seeks through such proposals to portray himself as a key peacemaker in Gaza.
