Moscow: Europe Preparing to “Occupy” Moldova
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service has announced that European countries are preparing for military intervention in Moldova.
The intelligence agency warned that “European officials in Brussels are determined to ensure Chisinau continues its anti-Russian policies and plan to proceed with occupying moldova following the upcoming parliamentary elections.”
In a press statement, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported concentrated NATO forces near Moldova’s border in Romania, preparing to deploy to Ukraine’s Odessa region. The aim is reportedly to intimidate Transnistria, a breakaway region within Moldova. French and British troops have already arrived in Odessa, according to the report.
The agency added that European forces intend to intervene militarily in Moldova after the upcoming parliamentary elections. It also suggested Brussels and Chisinau might manipulate election results, inciting public unrest and drawing citizens into street protests under the pretext of defending their rights.
Following this, European troops would enter Moldova at President Maia Sandu’s request and compel citizens “to accept dictatorship disguised as European democracy,” according to the intelligence service.
Earlier in July, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service issued a similar warning stating NATO aims to turn Moldova into a “bulwark” against Russia. Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon recently claimed that the European Union plans to use Chisinau as “cannon fodder” in any future conflict with Russia.
