Trump Escalator Controversy Continues; U.S. Secret Service Steps In
The English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today,reported that Bloomberg has revealed the U.S. Secret Service will launch an investigation into whether the escalator or teleprompter malfunction in front of President Donald Trump at the united Nations was caused deliberately.
According to the report, a spokesperson for Trump suggested that someone at the UN might have intentionally caused the escalator to stop as Trump and First Lady Melania approached.
A United Nations spokesman stated that a safety mechanism triggered, which caused the escalator to halt when President Trump and his wife were entering.
The incident occurred yesterday as Trump and Melania made their way toward the main hall ahead of Trump’s speech to world leaders at the 80th UN General Assembly.
Live video footage showed that shortly after stepping onto an escalator near the U.S. delegation area,it suddenly stopped. The unexpected halt surprised them momentarily before Melania and Trump chose to walk down on foot along its full length.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, responded to inquiries by confirming that “Trump and the First Lady passed through delegation entrances and security gates before approaching the escalator.”
