Germany: We Strive to Maintain Western Pressure on Russia
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency adn al Jazeera, the German government announced Wednesday that NATO’s territorial defense is carried out in full coordination with the alliance and according to its standards.
In its statement, Berlin claimed that sanctions and fascism lead to deadlock and accused Putin of being the only party rejecting peace. “We are working to sustain strong Western pressure on Russia,” it added.
The German government further stated that its goal is to isolate Russia as an aggressor and push it toward negotiations.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump described incidents like Estonia’s claim of three Russian fighter jets entering its airspace as troublesome.
Estonia’s Foreign Ministry protested against what it said was a 12-minute violation by these fighter jets and summoned a Russian diplomat in response.
This incident occurred just over a week after NATO fighters reported shooting down drones allegedly linked to Russia over Poland, raising fears about escalation in the Ukraine conflict.
Simultaneously occurring, Russia has repeatedly denied such claims and called for resolving misunderstandings promoted by the West through dialog.
