King of Spain: We Cannot Remain Silent Against Civilian Killings in Gaza

Spain’s King Felipe ⁤VI ​declared​ at⁤ the 80th United Nations General Assembly: We cannot remain silent or ‌turn‌ a blind ‍eye to the ⁢destruction of schools and hospitals, as well as the killing and⁢ starvation ‌of civilians in Gaza.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing‌ Al ⁤Jazeera via Mehr News‌ Agency, King Felipe VI of Spain stated today, Wednesday, during⁣ his⁤ speech at the 80th ​United Nations ‍General⁤ Assembly that they ⁣will not remain silent in the face of atrocities ‍occurring in⁢ Gaza. “We⁣ cannot stay silent nor​ close our eyes to the destruction of schools and hospitals along⁢ with the killing and starving of civilians in Gaza,” he saeid. He called​ for‌ an immediate end⁣ to ongoing killings⁢ in the ⁣Gaza Strip.​ “We urge Israel ⁣to end ⁢violations of human‍ rights. The⁣ international community must take obligation for a two-state ⁤solution and ⁤a ⁢just peace.Our recognition of Palestine should support achieving regional peace. We will⁤ continue backing efforts toward ‍a just and lasting peace based ‍on international law,”⁤ he added.

King Felipe VI ​continued by emphasizing that human dignity is non-negotiable.‍ “A world ​without standards ⁣is an‍ unknown⁤ territory-a⁢ return⁣ to‍ medieval⁢ times,” he warned. ‌”Peace in Europe‍ is ​impractical without⁢ justice​ and accountability.” He affirmed⁤ that the United Nations remains not only useful but essential in today’s ⁢world.

He further asserted: “We ⁣call on israel to‌ stop killings in Gaza and⁤ respect ⁢international humanitarian laws⁤ both there‍ and in ‌the ⁤West‍ bank. We cannot ignore widespread civilian casualties along ⁢with hunger and ​forced displacement affecting hundreds of thousands across ⁤Gaza.” He demanded unimpeded humanitarian aid deliveries, a ceasefire, and prisoner releases. “It is challenging for us to grasp what Israel is doing ⁢in Gaza; ​we call on them immediately to halt these massacres,” he said before appealing directly: “Stop slaughtering people who have endured suffering throughout their history.”

King Felipe VI also addressed⁢ Russia’s ​role by stating that Moscow waging an unjust war against‍ Ukraine while ⁣reaffirming Spain’s⁢ commitment ‍to support peace efforts.
