Macron: Israeli Annexation of West Bank Is Our Red Line
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, french President Emmanuel Macron stated in an interview with France 24 on Wednesday that if the situation in Gaza continues as it is, Europeans must impose sanctions on Israel. He emphasized that France supports Israel’s security but does not supply weapons.
Macron added that he urged former U.S. President Donald Trump to pressure Israel to end the Gaza conflict. “Nothing justifies the loss of lives in Gaza,” he said. He described any Israeli annexation of the West Bank as a red line.
Macron also claimed that with positive cooperation from Iran, European sanctions against Tehran could be lifted. “Our goal is to restore inspectors related to Iran’s nuclear dossier,” he stated.
This comes amid indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, while Washington allegedly violated international law by taking aggressive actions against Iran.
