Tunisian citizens demonstrated on Wednesday evening against the targeting of the global Samoud (resistance) fleet, which aims to break the blockade of Gaza. the protest took place outside the city Theater complex on Habib Bourguiba Street in Tunis.
The participants condemned the attack on the Samoud fleet and called for international protection of this convoy.
The global Samoud fleet, composed of more than 50 ships, set sail from Barcelona, Spain, in late August with the mission to aid Gaza’s population and break its blockade. Additional vessels have gradually joined from various parts of the world.
On Monday night, nine boats from the Samoud fleet were struck by 14 drone attacks launched by israeli forces.
An emergency protocol was activated across all vessels after drones flew over the convoy and fired projectiles and sound bombs at several ships.
Following these assaults and threats, an Italian rescue ship was dispatched wednesday morning to safeguard the Samoud fleet.Spain also announced it would send a naval operational vessel from Cartagena to assist and protect the convoy as it makes its way through the eastern Mediterranean toward Gaza.
