Colombia: Force Is Necessary to Counter Occupation
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Colombian President Gustavo Petro told Al Jazeera that statements condemning Israel’s crimes in Palestine are not enough and that force is needed to confront the occupation.
He added that those responsible for genocide in Gaza must be arrested and referred to the International Criminal Court.
The Colombian president also called for reform of the Security Council voting system, stating that no country should be able to impose its will on the world.
Earlier, during his speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, he criticized the role of the US president in the killing of Palestinians-especially in Gaza-and said former President Donald Trump authorized missile attacks targeting children, women, and elderly civilians there.
Petro pointed to global indifference toward Zionist crimes and Western complicity, declaring: “This is genocide and must be stopped. This UN assembly remains silent as a witness to these atrocities.”
