Palestinian Sniper Kills Israeli Soldier in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al Jazeera, the israeli military has confirmed the death of one of its soldiers belonging to the elite Nahal Brigade during clashes in northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli news site Times of Israel,referring to initial military investigations,reported that the deceased soldier was guarding a checkpoint at a camp when he was targeted by a Palestinian sniper.
The israeli army stated that the soldier was shot from a long distance and that the attacker succeeded in retreating after carrying out the operation.
israeli media noted that troops immediately cleared the area but failed to locate the sniper. The Israeli forces heavily shelled the zone but were unsuccessful in achieving their objective.
