Italy Sends Second Ship to Escort Samood Fleet
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Data Center, Italy’s Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated that Italy will send an additional ship to accompany and support the international Sumud fleet delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Earlier, Spanish Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that Spain would deploy a naval vessel for maritime operations to accompany and support the Sumud fleet and undertake rescue missions.
Yesterday,Guido Crosetto strongly condemned Israel’s nighttime attack on the international Sumud fleet,which is sailing toward Gaza with the goal of breaking Israel’s blockade of the strip.
In a statement, Crosetto also said he had directed an Italian Navy ship to provide assistance en route to join the Sumud fleet.
More then 50 vessels have gathered in Greece’s southern territorial waters in the Mediterranean Sea. They will join six ships arriving from Crete as part of a global Sumud flotilla heading toward Gaza. This effort aims to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza that has been enforced for nearly two years.
