Netanyahu Orders Live Broadcast of His UN Speech Across Gaza Strip
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Times of Israel, reports that benjamin Netanyahu’s office has instructed the Israeli military to install loudspeakers across Gaza to broadcast his UN General assembly speech live to residents in the strip.
According to Channel 12 in Israel, the military has expressed opposition to this order, noting it requires soldiers to leave their posts and enter areas within Gaza where they could come under attack from Hamas forces.
Though, Haaretz reported that the Israeli military will comply with the directive and is preparing for a live broadcast of Netanyahu’s address. An army official told Haaretz that this measure aims to initiate a “psychological warfare” campaign.
Times of Israel notes that Netanyahu’s speech is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. tehran time) and will largely focus on criticizing Western countries for recognizing an independent Palestinian state.
