New Details Emerge on Trump’s Gaza Ceasefire Plan
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency,CNN reported from an unnamed source that President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza calls for the release of Israeli prisoners within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the gaza Strip.
CNN also cited this source as saying that the Trump management’s 21-point proposal demands that Hamas have no role in governing Gaza in the future.
The report states that Trump’s plan does not include a timeline for Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza. It also prohibits forced displacement from the territory.
The source added that Trump’s proposal envisions two levels of interim governance in Gaza: one led by an inclusive international body and another by a Palestinian committee.
Today,Trump again claimed he is close to ending the war in Gaza. Speaking to reporters, he said, “We are close to reaching an agreement that will end the war in gaza and bring back our prisoners.”
Yesterday, he reiterated this claim during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
This statement comes despite his strong support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. Civilians there continue to be killed by American-made weapons Washington supplies to Tel Aviv.
