American Media: Tony Blair to Become Gaza’s Interim Ruler
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Western and Arab sources told The Wall Street Journal that under Donald Trump’s plan, Tony Blair will act as Gaza’s interim governor. Blair will lead an international transitional committee, with Palestinian technocrats serving as members of this transitional government.
The sources stated that this committee would govern Gaza for several years.
the Wall Street Journal reported that untill full control of Gaza is transferred to the Palestinians, the committee will receive support from an international force led by Arab countries.
The newspaper cited U.S. officials saying trump’s governance faces meaningful obstacles for the plan, including opposition from Netanyahu and Hamas leaders.
earlier, the Financial Times claimed Tony Blair was considered a candidate to head a supervisory body called the “International Transitional Government of Gaza” and suggested he is working on a post-war governance plan for Gaza.
According to The Times of Israel, this transitional government would manage Gaza for several years before handing authority back to Palestinians.
This proposal does not include relocating Palestinians-a sensitive issue consistently regarded as a red line in negotiations.
In August, Blair met with President Donald Trump and others to discuss Gaza’s future. Sky News reported that this plan has White house backing.
