Trump Claims Constructive Talks with Middle Eastern Countries on Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump stated, “We have had very constructive and inspiring negotiations with Middle Eastern countries regarding Gaza.”
He added, ”We are engaged in highly productive talks with Middle Eastern nations about Gaza.”
Trump noted that the intensive negotiations on Gaza have lasted four days and will continue as long as necessary to reach a successful agreement.
The US president said, “All regional countries are involved; Hamas is fully aware of this, and Israel is informed at all levels.”
Trump further commented, “There is more goodwill toward reaching an agreement in Gaza than I have seen before. Everyone is eager to move past this difficult period, and I am proud to be part of thes discussions concerning Gaza.”
On Friday, Trump again claimed that an end to the war in Gaza was near. He told reporters,”We are close to achieving an agreement that will end the war in Gaza and bring back captives.”
The president made a similar claim during his meeting with Erdogan on Thursday.
This assertion comes despite his strong support for the Israeli regime’s actions in Gaza. The people of Gaza and the region continue to suffer casualties from American weapons supplied by Washington to Tel Aviv.
Trump’s plan for Gaza calls for the release of Israeli prisoners within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip.
The 21-point ceasefire proposal by the Trump administration demands that Hamas have no future role in governing gaza.
The plan does not specify a timetable for Israeli troop withdrawals from Gaza. It also prohibits forced displacement from the territory.
The administration’s proposal includes two levels of interim governance for Gaza: one led by an inclusive international body and another managed by a Palestinian committee.
