US Greenlights Netanyahu to Threaten Iraqi Resistance; Tel Aviv Reacts Angrily
Mehr News Agency, International Desk, Elnaz Rahmat Nejad: Benjamin Netanyahu opened his speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly by accusing Iran and fighters from the axis of Resistance-including hamas, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, and Iraqi resistance groups-while leaders worldwide booed him over his regime’s crimes in gaza. Netanyahu directly threatened Iraqi resistance factions and vowed to target them.
Netanyahu’s threat to attack Iraqi resistance groups, which clearly violates Iraq’s sovereignty, drew a response from Iraq’s Foreign minister Fouad Hussein. He warned that any attack on an Iraqi citizen would be considered an attack on all of Iraq.
In this context, we spoke with Seyed Abbas mousavi, representative of the Secretary-General of Iraq’s Nujaba Movement in Iran. The full interview follows:
At the 80th UN General Assembly, Netanyahu began his speech with accusations and threats against Iran and Axis of Resistance fighters-from Hamas and Hezbollah to Ansar Allah and Iraqi resistance groups. Why has Netanyahu targeted Iraqi resistance specifically?
The people of Iraq and its resistance groups take pride in Netanyahu’s threats. The Israeli prime minister’s warnings demonstrate how painful and effective recent attacks by Iraqi resistance forces have been in support of Palestine. over the past two years, thes attacks struck military facilities, security centers, and vital Israeli targets along the Dead Sea coast, Haifa, and deep inside Israel itself-all documented history known well by Israel.
The occupation regime knows that Islamic resistance groups in iraq are continuously evolving-becoming stronger and more unified. these groups pose a meaningful threat to this illegitimate regime and have prevented it from achieving its strategic goal-from Nile to Euphrates-a plan Tel Aviv has pursued for decades.
What is the official stance of Iraqis and their resistance forces toward these threats?
First, Netanyahu’s threat is a blatant violation against both the sovereignty of Iraq’s government and its people.
Second, both Iraqi resistant forces and civilians firmly believe without any doubt that this explicit threat was issued with Washington’s approval.
Thirdly-and regardless whether it is carried out-this threat constitutes an assault on Islamic resistance factions within Iraq as well as their supporters alongside national sovereignty; it will be answered decisively at an appropriate time.
Fourthly-and importantly-the Israeli prime minister’s threats only strengthen the power, resilience & determination among these groups. Such insignificant intimidation will never isolate them; rather they will continue their path dynamically with vitality.
This warning came on the eve marking martyrdom anniversary for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah-the revered leader who sacrificed himself for lofty principles-which inspires steadfastness among his followers. The resistances are committed to following Nasrallah’s path until achieving one goal: victory or martyrdom.
After these threats what do you foresee for the future fate of Iraqi resistances?
We believe direct confrontation with Israel will enhance experience levels across all capacities within these fighting factions while brightening their future prospects substantially.
We expect casualties including some leaders may occur; such losses are unfortunately natural during battles against evil forces.
Ultimately-and God willing-victory shall be ours.
According to our culture & beliefs: even martyrs’ blood lights our way forward blessings us spiritually providing clarity amid struggle.
What truly leads toward success is survival alongside continuous endurance amid trials faced by all resisting fronts.
