Rising Tensions Among Zionist Officials Over Trump Plan
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, tensions are rising among Israeli authorities ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding his proposed plan.
Betsalel Smotrich, Israel’s Minister of Finance, demands the Palestinian Authority refrain from intervening in Gaza’s administration, calls for the complete destruction of Hamas, advocates occupying parts of the West Bank, and opposes establishing a Palestinian state.
Itamar ben-Gvir warned Netanyahu that he should not end the Gaza conflict without first defeating Hamas.
Conversely, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has called for an end to the Gaza war.
Yesterday, Israel’s Channel 12 reported on possible terms for a ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange with Hamas. The American proposal reportedly includes releasing all Israeli captives within 48 hours in exchange for freeing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from gaza.
The plan reportedly denies annexation of Gaza into Israeli territory and suggests gradually transferring control over the strip to local and international authorities.
