Hamas Executes Fiercest Attack on Israeli Positions Since Operation Al-Aqsa Storm Began
The English section of webangah News Agency quoted Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm reporting that on Sunday, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades released a video showing their heavy assault on Israeli positions as part of Operation “David’s Sling.”
This marks the fiercest attack by Qassam fighters against Israeli forces as the Al-Aqsa Storm operation began on October 7, 2023.
According to the report, Qassam fighters targeted a newly established Israeli military base, successfully hitting multiple Merkava IV tanks with homemade bombs, suicide explosives, and Yasin 105 rockets.
Support units from the brigades also launched rocket attacks against houses used as fortifications by Israeli troops. Additionally, several Qassam militants stormed these fortified houses and killed some occupying soldiers.
The fighters continued their operation by shelling areas around the site with mortars to cut off reinforcements and ensure a safe withdrawal.
Moreover, upon arrival of Israeli rescue forces, one Qassam fighter carried out a suicide attack among them, killing and wounding several soldiers.
Earlier statements from the izz al-Din al-Qassam brigades announced three operations targeting Israeli soldiers in Gaza City.
The frist involved Hamas militants using anti-personnel rockets against soldiers entrenched inside a house, resulting in casualties. In the second operation near Tel al-Hawa in southern Gaza City, they struck an Israeli armored personnel carrier with Tandem rockets. In the third action east of Gaza City in Al-Tuffah district, a Qassam sniper killed an Israeli soldier.
