Israeli media reported a Palestinian attack in the West Bank on Sunday evening. The sources said that a car-ramming incident was reported near a village east of Qalqilya, and Israeli forces were dispatched to the scene.
Israel Defense Forces Radio stated that a Palestinian vehicle approached soldiers at high speed at the specified location and attempted to run them over. The soldiers fired at the attacker, resulting in his death.
The Hamas movement responded with a statement describing the “heroic car-ramming operation” carried out by one of its fighters at an intersection in Jit, east of Qalqilya. Hamas said it was “in response to ongoing genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza and crimes such as killings, arrests, Judaization policies, and settlement expansion in the West Bank and Jerusalem.”
Hamas added that this bold operation reflects ”the steadfastness of the Palestinian people against annexation and Judaization schemes,” emphasizing that resistance will persist as long as occupation continues. It insisted efforts to suppress resistance will never break Palestinians’ determination or their struggle for liberation from occupation.
The statement further stressed that “the occupiers’ crimes along with forced displacement policies and daily settler attacks backed by Israel’s military only fuel popular anger and intensify varied forms of resistance.”
