Civilian Drone Flights Banned in Danish Airspace
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing AFP, DenmarkS Ministry of Transport declared that civilian drones will be prohibited from flying over Danish skies during an upcoming European Union summit in Copenhagen, the nation’s capital.
The appearance of suspicious drones over Denmark starting September 22 led to the closure of several airports. Copenhagen has accused Russia of possible interference, which Moscow denies.
The Danish military reported that these drones were spotted yesterday for a second consecutive day above one of the country’s military facilities. Copenhagen is hosting an EU summit with heads of government on Thursday and Friday this week.
Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen stated that security measures will intensify, and from Monday through Friday this week, all civilian drone flights over denmark’s airspace will be banned. Violations may result in fines or imprisonment for up to two days.
