Iraq: Al-Hol Camp Threatens Security of Entire Region

According to the​ English section of webangah‌ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Maalomah, ​Ali ‌al-Bandawi, a ⁢member of Iraq’s Parliament Security and Defense Committee, warned that the security risks stemming from the failure to dismantle the Al-Hol camp are escalating.

He ⁣added that this camp, ​wich contains ISIS militants and their families, represents a direct threat ⁢to the security of Iraq, the region, and the world.

Al-Bandawi emphasized that the presence of terrorist groups inside this camp poses a real danger to regional stability. Relevant parties must take immediate action to reduce thes threats.

Previously, Iraq’s president stressed efforts ‌to close Al-Hol camp,​ stating it poses risks not ⁢only for Syria and Iraq but also for Turkey due to⁣ its location near border areas.
