Japan’s Latest Measures Against Iran

Japan announces ⁤the reinstatement⁢ of sanctions against Tehran, citing ⁤the activation of the snapback⁤ mechanism.

According⁣ to the ‍English ⁤section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Nippon, the Japanese⁣ government announced on Monday that it has resumed ​sanctions against Iran following​ the reimposition of United​ Nations sanctions ⁢over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.

Tokyo ⁣claimed it has frozen assets belonging ​to 78 organizations and⁣ 43 individuals based on a UN Security Council⁤ resolution.

Yoshimasa Hayashi,Japan’s Chief ‍Cabinet Secretary,emphasized in a press ‌conference the importance of reaching a diplomatic solution.​ He said, “This issue is now at ⁤a crossroads.We⁢ must not miss opportunities for dialog.”

The Chief‍ Cabinet Secretary reiterated that Tokyo’s position-calling for resolving the matter through​ talks-remains unchanged.

He added, “While complying with Security Council decisions, we will ‍continue necessary‍ diplomatic efforts.”
