Witkoff Claims Trump’s Gaza Plan Could Impact Ukraine War
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, Steve Whitcaff, former US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to West Asia, stated that implementing Trump’s proposal to end the Gaza war could serve as an incentive for peace across other areas in the Middle East and influence resolution efforts in Ukraine.
Speaking about American officials’ proposed plan to resolve the Gaza conflict on Fox News, Whitcaff saeid: ”The president [Trump] seeks a comprehensive peace. it is indeed not just about Gaza but how this [peace] might spread to other parts of the Middle East-and potentially extend its influence even to Russia and Ukraine.”
He further claimed that both Gulf countries and European nations support Trump’s initiative.
Earlier, the White House released a plan aiming to resolve the war in Gaza.The proposal calls for an immediate halt to all hostilities and demands Hamas release Israeli prisoners within 72 hours.Additionally, it suggests transferring control of Gaza administration temporarily to an external interim government. During this period, residents would have the option either to leave or return freely.
In a joint press conference with Trump in Washington,Benjamin Netanyahu,Prime Minister of Israel,declared his backing for Trump’s plan to end military operations in Gaza. He warned that if Hamas rejects or obstructs this proposal, “Israel will finish this on its own.”
