Greek Activists Call to Break Gaza Siege and Sever Ties with Israel
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency via Anadolu Agency, activists from the ”March to Gaza from Greece” initiative stated during protests and solidarity gatherings that Israel’s maritime blockade of Gaza is illegal and must be lifted.
The activists emphasized the need to open a humanitarian corridor and sever all commercial and military relations with the Israeli regime.
Antonis Haras, coordinator of this initiative, told Anadolu Agency: “The ships of the Global Steadfastness Fleet are carrying aid, but their main goal is to demonstrate international solidarity with Palestine and protest against 22 months of genocide in Gaza.”
He described the Israeli occupiers as “a Zionist, racist, colonial entity” that has repeatedly attacked other countries while depriving Palestinians even of water and transport routes.
Yorgos Charbopoulos, another member of the initiative, noted that he visited Palestine in 2001 to see a doctor working with Médecins Sans Frontières and witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by Palestinians.
He added that even then Palestinians resisted occupation using stones and slingshots.
