Starmer Welcomes U.S. Plan for Gaza

UK ⁣Prime Minister⁣ welcomes US plan for Gaza.

According to the English section‍ of ⁢ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, UK Prime Minister keir Starmer stated: “I welcome the US ⁢initiative for peace in the Middle East (west Asia).⁢ I support efforts that lead‌ to ending the conflict,⁣ the release of prisoners (Israeli captives ⁢held by Hamas), and allowing aid into Gaza.”

The UK Prime Minister claimed, in a populist manner: ⁤”Now all parties must ‌unite to turn the US peace initiative into reality. We must revive hope for a two-state solution where Israel exists‌ alongside a secure Palestinian ‌state.”

Starmer, who refrained from acknowledging ⁢London’s overt and covert support for the Israeli occupiers, asserted: “I will never‍ give up on diplomacy⁤ nor question ⁢Britain’s values.”

Yesterday, monday, during his meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, ⁤Donald‌ Trump unveiled his roadmap for a ceasefire ⁢in Gaza. He warned that if Hamas rejects ‌this proposal, he would ‍greenlight continued Israeli military operations.

This plan was initially ‍set to include ‍21 points but appears reduced to 20. It was first presented on Tuesday during side meetings at the United Nations General Assembly in New York to Arab leaders.

The Guardian reported that Trump’s 20-point plan calling for an immediate end to hostilities⁤ between Israel and Hamas lacks details on how key ⁤elements would be implemented. The so-called White House peace plan proposes an immediate halt to Israel’s nearly ⁤two-year-long destructive war⁢ in⁣ this coastal region while explicitly excluding Hamas‍ from any future governing role there. Even then, establishing a Palestinian‌ state is only ⁣vaguely referenced as a distant⁣ possibility.
