Pentagon: U.S. Military Mission in Iraq to Decrease
The U.S. Department of Defense announced a reduction of the American military mission in Iraq.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) declared that the United States, along with its partners in the international coalition against ISIS, will reduce their military mission in Iraq.
In a Pentagon statement, this decision is part of a transitional process aiming to shift the U.S. presence from combat operations to an expanded security partnership with the Iraqi government.
This growth comes amid ongoing discussions over recent months about the future role of American forces in Iraq,which has become a central issue in bilateral relations between the two countries.
