Philippines Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 60
The death toll from the deadly earthquake in the Philippines has risen to 60.
According to the english section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, the number of fatalities from the deadly earthquake in the philippines has increased to at least 60.
The philippine GMA TV network, quoting the country’s Civil Defense Authority, reported this update.
Bernardo Alejandro, Deputy Secretary-General of the agency, said: “There are reports of a rising death toll. We have received information about approximately 60 confirmed deaths.”
Earlier today, Al Jazeera had reported 26 deaths and at least 147 injured.
A powerful magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck the Philippines on Tuesday, with it’s strongest tremors felt on Cebu Island.
