Maduro: Venezuela Will Not Become a Colony of Any Imperialist Power
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RT, Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s president, amid escalating tensions with the United States, asserted that Caracas will never become a colony or slave to any supremacist empire.
Referring to threats from then-U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration against Caracas, Maduro stressed: “there is no substitute for independence and freedom because today the choice is not between homeland or death but between independence or colonialism, between slavery and free peoples.”
The venezuelan leader declared: “I swear by my life and the life of a nation that we will never be anyone’s backyard, colony, or slave-neither to any supremacist empire nor to anyone else; not today, not tommorow, nor ever.”
Maduro added, “Our eternal commander Hugo Chávez positioned Venezuela at the forefront of creating a world without colonial empires-a free world united on cooperation and peace; a multipolar and pluricentric world reflected in our foreign policy concept and Bolivarian peace diplomacy.”
Speaking at the opening ceremony for Venezuela’s 2025-2026 academic year at the Bolivarian Military University (UMBV), Maduro said it seems destined that america spreads war and misery worldwide under an army of darkness disguised as false liberty.
