Hamas Demands Amendments to Trump’s Plan, Including Disarmament Provisions
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, Agence France-Presse reported that a source close to Hamas said the group demands changes to some elements of Trump’s plan, specifically regarding disarmament.
This statement from Hamas comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed at ending the Gaza conflict, benefits israel.
During a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said agreements reached with Trump-including mechanisms for disarming Palestinian resistance groups and excluding the Palestinian authority from governing Gaza-are favorable for Tel Aviv.
It should be noted that Trump’s biased plan advances increased U.S. support for Israel and calls for Palestinians’ disarmament without addressing the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state.
