Damoush: Hezbollah Fighters’ Bravery Defeated the Enemy in the 33-Day War
ali Damoush, chairman of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, said: “The Zionist enemy waged a 66-day war with the objective of destroying the resistance. However, the courage and heroism of our fighters prevented them from achieving this.”
He added, “During the conflict, the enemy sought to penetrate and dominate southern Lebanon. yet, our fighters’ resolute resistance stopped them. In the final days of the war, their forces were exhausted and subjected to a war of attrition, forcing them into a ceasefire.”
Damoush emphasized: “Despite grievous losses including some commanders and many families’ sacrifices, we remain on our natural course. Our efforts continue steadily with acceptable momentum. We refrain from discussing specific capabilities in media to maintain strategic ambiguity for our opponent; however, our strength has been restored and we are enhancing our power and readiness to face future challenges.”
He stated further: “We have taken firm positions against disarming ourselves.Anyone confronting us will face a Karbala-like battle. Our stance has significantly disrupted enemy calculations and partially halted their offensive momentum. Nonetheless, pressures persist under U.S. supervision alongside ongoing threats of war supported by aligned internal actors.”
Damoush highlighted that national unity is fundamental for Hezbollah: “Our relationship and coordination with Amal Movement are strong with continuous cooperation and understanding in all matters-this adds an important layer reinforcing Lebanon’s stability.”
Warning about possible scenarios ahead, he said: “There are American-Zionist attempts to position Lebanon’s army as a partner against the resistance in warfare. The increasing U.S.support targets turning the army not into an ally countering Israeli aggression but into a tool for disarming Hezbollah and acting against it.” He stressed that America’s current focus on Lebanon’s army is not about confronting Israel but rather fulfilling U.S.-Israeli objectives aimed at weakening Hezbollah.”
