Turkey and Spain Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held consultations today, Wednesday, with Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
The two officials spoke by phone to discuss the publicly reported Gaza ceasefire proposal.
Both parties reviewed and debated the details of the proposed ceasefire in Gaza during their call.
On Tuesday,U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a roadmap for a Gaza ceasefire during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He warned that if Hamas rejects this offer, Israel would be given the green light to continue its military operations.
The plan was initially expected to contain 21 articles but has reportedly been reduced to 20. It was presented earlier on Tuesday at side meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, addressed to Arab leaders.
The Guardian reported that Trump’s 20-article plan calls for an immediate end to hostilities between Israel and Hamas but lacks specifics on how key points would be implemented. The White House’s so-called peace plan for Gaza proposes an immediate halt to nearly two years of destructive conflict orchestrated by Israel in this coastal region while explicitly denying Hamas any future governing role there. Even under these terms, establishing a Palestinian state is only vaguely mentioned as a distant possibility.
