Israeli Regime Encircles Samood Fleet Ships
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, reported that the international Commitee to Break the Gaza Siege has announced Israeli boats have encircled the Samood fleet ships.
According to the report, as Israeli vessels approached the global Samood fleet, dialog with some ships-including the Omar Al-Mukhtar-was lost.
Israeli military personnel threatened activists aboard the samood fleet thru loudspeakers. In response to these threats, one activist stated they were carrying milk and medicine on a humanitarian mission and accused Israel of committing a war crime.
Some media outlets reported that israeli forces detained crew members from two ships named Alma and Cyrus.
Reuters stated that the Israeli navy ordered the samood fleet to redirect towards Ashdod Port.
Simultaneously occurring, an Al Jazeera correspondent aboard the ship ins Al-Sharif reported they remained in territorial waters about 80 nautical miles off Gaza’s coast.
The correspondent added that after an Israeli warship drew near, they had to abandon their phones.
The Israeli navy has formally requested that the Samood fleet change course toward Ashdod Port.
