Secretary-General of Tunisia’s Labour Party Calls for Siege of U.S. Embassy in Tunisia
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al-Mayadeen, reported that Hammeh El-Hammami, Secretary-General of the Tunisian Labor Party, reacted to israel’s seizure of ships from the Steadfast Fleet by demanding urgent popular and political measures against the normalization of relations with Israel.
he stated,”What happened today to the Steadfast Fleet was a crime that began from Tunisia.”
El-Hammami noted that Gaza has mobilized nations and protest movements worldwide. “We must use this opportunity to increase pressure on the occupation regime,” he said.
He further described the United States as a partner in Israeli crimes in Gaza and called for a blockade of the U.S. embassy in Tunisia.
He added, “Trade unions should act to criminalize normalization with Israel. In Tunisia, we have placed this issue at the top of our agenda.”
The Global Steadfast (Resistance) Fleet consists of over 50 vessels aiming to break Gaza’s blockade but encountered brutal attacks from Israel during its mission.The regime has seized several fleet vessels and detained numerous activists onboard.
The fleet’s management confirmed it lost contact with several ships following Israeli attacks and is actively working to monitor all activists and crew members’ status.
The Global Steadfast Fleet condemned Israel’s seizure as an illegal assault targeting unarmed civilians in international waters.
They emphasized their location 70 nautical miles off Gaza’s coast and affirmed their intent to continue without retreating.
The fleet appealed globally for calls demanding safety and freedom for all ship occupants.
