Turkey: Israel’s Attack on Samood Fleet Constitutes a Terrorist Act

Turkey strongly‌ condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on the global‌ “Sumud” fleet, which was en route to Gaza ⁣to deliver humanitarian aid and break the blockade.

According to the English section of ‌ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu ‌Agency, Turkey’s Ministry of ‍Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the Israeli navy’s attack ‍on the international ‌Sumud convoy. ⁢The ministry described it as a “terrorist ⁤act” that endangers innocent civilians’ lives.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said this attack targeted civilians acting⁣ peacefully without resorting to violence. It ⁣exemplifies‍ how Netanyahu’s fascist and militaristic policies, which have condemned Gaza to famine, extend beyond ⁢Palestinians alone⁣ and target all those resisting Israeli oppression.

The statement added that coordination has been maintained with⁤ other countries whose citizens participated in the convoy since Sumud’s departure.

it further affirmed‍ that all necessary measures are underway ⁤to secure the immediate release of Turkish citizens and other detainees held by Israeli forces.

The ⁢ministry expressed hope that this assault will not undermine efforts toward ‍achieving a ceasefire in⁢ Gaza. It also announced legal actions will be taken to hold those responsible for “this attack” ⁤accountable.

The conclusion appealed urgently to the United Nations and all relevant international organizations to take swift action to lift Gaza’s‌ illegal ⁢blockade, permit ⁣entry of humanitarian assistance into the territory, and guarantee freedom of navigation.

Turkey’s Vice⁣ President Fuat ‌Oktay condemned the assault as an illegal⁤ and brutal ⁣attack on Sumud’s fleet in international waters. He called ⁣it an affront against humanity’s collective⁣ conscience.

speaker of Turkey’s ⁢Parliament Mustafa Şentop also denounced the operation as a “blatant‌ violation of international law and a crime.”

Fahrettin Altun, Communications director for Turkey’s Presidency, labeled Israel’s interference with this humanitarian mission as “a⁣ black mark” in history.
