Moscow: Reinstating Sanctions Against Iran Was Illegal
according too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Reuters, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized that the European troika’s decision to reinstate United Nations sanctions against Iran was illegal. She added that this move has deepened the crisis over Iran’s nuclear programme.
Zakharova said the reimposition of sanctions resulted from manipulation and deception by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. She noted that ”consequently, its legal consequences are null and void and cannot impose any legal obligation on other countries.”
Following a 30-day activation process of the snapback mechanism against the Islamic republic of iran-based on unfounded accusations by the European troika-the United Nations reinstated all sanctions related to Tehran’s nuclear program on September 27.
