Washington Post Claims: Four U.S. Conditions for Iran
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Shafaq News, The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration is pushing four conditions as the foundation for new nuclear negotiations wiht Iran.
The report states these conditions include engaging in direct negotiations with the U.S.,halting uranium enrichment, limiting missile programs, and stopping financial support for regional forces.
The U.S. official claimed these four conditions were among the most significant obstacles in past talks and predicted Tehran would reject them.
The report added that Washington believes now is an opportune time to apply pressure and that sanctions create a pathway to a political solution.
This comes as iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that their defense and missile programs are non-negotiable and affirmed Iran’s right to uranium enrichment. They have also stressed that Washington lacks serious intent for negotiation, stating such maximal demands effectively close off any dialog. Previously, Iran and the U.S. engaged in talks mediated by Oman several times; however, during one round of discussions, Israel and the U.S. launched attacks on Iranian territory.
