Uruguay Urges Tel Aviv to Respect International Law
The Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the attack on the Samood Fleet by the Zionist regime and urged Tel Aviv to ensure the safety of those aboard while respecting international law,according to an English report by webangah News Agency citing Mehr News Agency.
The statement highlighted Uruguay’s serious concerns regarding the seizure of more than 40 vessels belonging to the global Samood Fleet, comprising over 500 people from around 40 countries. These ships were en route to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
It also noted that Uruguay’s foreign ministry is closely monitoring the situation. Officials are in direct contact with three Uruguayan nationals aboard these vessels as well as with Israeli authorities to ensure appropriate diplomatic and consular measures are taken.
