International Complaint Filed Against Tel Aviv Over Assault on Samood Fleet
the Tunisian National Committee for Supporting the resistance in Palestine declared on Friday that it will submit an international complaint against Israel due to the unlawful seizure of the Samoud flotilla and attacks on journalists, according to the English section of webangah news Agency citing Palestinian Facts Center.
The committee also called for the immediate release of those detained from the Samoud flotilla and demanded punishment for Israel’s illegal obstruction of humanitarian aid entering Gaza.
According to a statement, detainees from the Samoud flotilla have launched a hunger strike in protest against Israeli actions.
The committee described Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s Minister of National Security, as engaging in “terrorism” against the detainees.It noted that they have been treated with humiliation and forced to sign documents agreeing to exile and detention.
Moreover, the committee urged the international community to pressure Tel Aviv to free all participants of the Samoud flotilla. Tunisia also called for legislation criminalizing normalization with Israel.
A team of lawyers from Tunisia, Spain, and Italy is handling cases related to those detained. The committee stressed that Israel’s raids on these vessels constitute clear violations of international law.
Separately, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Friday confirming it is indeed monitoring it’s citizens aboard the Samoud flotilla.Muscat emphasized its commitment to ensuring their health and safe return home.
The ministry highlighted cooperation with partners to guarantee citizen security and demanded assurances for all participants’ wellbeing without exposure to any harm.
The statement further called on the international community to assume responsibility by pressuring Tel Aviv to halt violations and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
