Israeli Officials Express Discontent Over Trump’s Stance on Hamas Statement

Israeli sources report Tel Aviv’s dissatisfaction with Trump’s view on Hamas’ statement last night.

According to the English section of‍ webangah ⁤News Agency, citing Rosia al-Yom via Mehr News Agency, Israeli military radio quoted senior officials⁤ saying Tel Aviv ⁢does not interpret the statement issued ⁣by Hamas as the group’s approval of⁢ Trump’s plan, even‍ though the U.S. president holds a ⁣different opinion.

The report states that Trump has presented ⁣Tel Aviv⁣ with only one option: to accept Hamas’ statement as a starting point for ⁤negotiations. It‍ is ⁣noteworthy⁢ that Hamas declared its agreement in principle with Trump’s proposal ⁤through ⁤its statement.

Israeli ⁤media sources also reported that Prime‍ Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an urgent meeting last night ⁤to address this issue without two hardline ministers, Smotrich and Ben Gvir.

The Israeli military radio‌ further reported ‌that amid tensions with Qatar, the shadow ⁣Israeli delegation will likely not visit Qatar but is expected to travel to Cairo for talks regarding Hamas’ response.

Currently, Tel Aviv is ⁢reviewing certain aspects related to negotiations, including maps detailing potential withdrawal routes for‌ Israeli forces from Gaza.

Israel’s Channel 12 news also revealed that netanyahu has instructed ministers not to speak to⁣ the media⁣ on this matter. Simultaneously occurring, Steve‌ Whitman, President Trump’s envoy, is scheduled to visit the region in the coming⁣ days.
