Erdogan Responds to Hamas’s Reply to Trump Plan
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated on Saturday that Turkey welcomes Hamas’s response to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan, which demonstrated the movement’s readiness for peace.
Erdoğan added that activists from the Global Steadfastness fleet are expected to arrive at Istanbul Airport within about an hour. He emphasized that Turkey stands alongside Palestinians in Gaza and called on Israel to cease its attacks on Gaza immediately.
The Turkish president further noted that peace in Gaza is achievable only if all parties assume their responsibilities.
Erdoğan stressed, “We will do whatever is necessary to prevent the death of any innocent person and bring smiles back to the children of Gaza. If all parties act responsibly, it is possible to halt the bloodshed and establish peace. The situation in Gaza has been central in my phone conversations with Trump, and we welcome Hamas’s response.”
Previously, Erdoğan described Hamas’s acceptance of a ceasefire plan as a constructive and significant step toward lasting peace. He urged Israel to immediately stop all attacks and commit fully to the ceasefire agreement. He called for swift action without delay to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and secure a permanent peace.
