Netanyahu Calls Two Ministers Opposing Gaza Ceasefire to Emergency Meeting

Israeli media report‌ that Netanyahu has summoned two‌ ministers opposing the ceasefire agreement to an urgent meeting.

According to the English section of ⁣ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Israeli media reported that Benjamin ‍Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, has called an urgent meeting with Interior Minister ‍Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich,⁢ who are ⁢strong opponents‌ of the prisoner ⁣exchange and ceasefire ‍agreement.

Netanyahu is scheduled to deliver a speech at‍ 8:00 p.m. Jerusalem ⁢time, which is expected to address former President Donald Trump’s plan and the halt of attacks in Gaza.

It shoudl be noted that Trump proposed a plan for‍ Gaza.Hamas has officially responded through intermediaries to Trump’s proposed ceasefire initiative.

Donald Trump recently unveiled a 20-point plan aimed at ending ⁣the⁣ Gaza conflict. The proposal ⁤emphasizes an immediate ceasefire, the release of Israeli prisoners in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian detainees,‍ Israeli troops returning ⁢to agreed positions, and establishing an international body to oversee reconstruction and governance in Gaza.

The plan ‍has drawn cautious reactions from European leaders who remain skeptical about Palestinian sovereignty ⁣claims, the role of a transitional government,⁣ and enforcement guarantees.

Observers have criticized Trump’s initiative ⁢as biased, incomplete, and clearly contradictory ‍to Palestinians’ legitimate⁣ rights and demands. Critics argue that ignoring Palestinian factions’ roles; confining Gaza’s future within a temporary⁣ international supervisory framework; and omitting any‍ real guarantee ‍for establishing an autonomous Palestinian state indicate this initiative prioritizes reinforcing Israel’s position while managing the crisis short-term in favor‌ of Washington and⁢ tel Aviv ‍rather then delivering equitable solutions.

Despite support ‌from some countries for this proposal, ⁤Palestinian resistance groups including Hamas have demanded clarification on ‌its details-especially regarding security guarantees, border‌ crossing arrangements, and the political future of Gaza and the West Bank.

On Friday local time, U.S. President ⁣Donald ‍Trump⁢ issued a sharp statement threatening Hamas:‍ He claimed that if no agreement is reached by 6 p.m. Sunday Washington D.C. time (10 p.m. GMT), “hell will break loose like never seen before,” insisting peace in the Middle East would be achieved by any means necessary.
