Types of Torture Against Somoud Activists: Denial of Water, Theft, and Beating
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, activists participating in the Global Samood Fleet detailed the mistreatment they endured by Israeli soldiers during their detention in the occupied territories.
As last Wednesday night,israeli forces have seized 42 ships belonging to the Global Samood Fleet while they sailed in international waters en route to Gaza. hundreds of international activists aboard these vessels were arrested.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday that about 137 activists detained by Israelis for taking part in the fleet had been deported and arrived safely back in Turkey.
Iqbal Gurbanar, one activist on board, said Tel Aviv onc again revealed its weakness before global public opinion and exposed its true nature. He added that they were kept hungry: “In a room with 14 people, we received only one plate with nearly calorie-free food.”
He continued: “They did not give us clean water.They confiscated all our medicines and stole everything from us. Israeli soldiers took our computers, phones, and chargers and stuffed them into their own bags.Theft is part of their nature.”
Zeyneb Dilek Tik Oğac, another Turkish activist, said that after protesters objected to remarks made by extremist Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, security forces increased their level of violence.
Osman Çetin Kaya, another caravan member, stated that israeli soldiers aimed to humiliate them: “When we resisted, they intensified their violence. They stole our personal belongings.”
Kaya added that prisoners faced constant pressure inside jail as they were repeatedly moved from place to place throughout the night.
Ayçin Kant Oğlu, also a Turkish activist, said: “We are not afraid of them. They committed very vile and unethical acts.” He reported that female detainees underwent naked body searches and had everything taken from them.
He further explained there were writings on prison walls made with blood-detained mothers had inscribed their children’s names. “We experienced part of what Palestinians go through daily,” he said. “They denied us clean water and told us to drink toilet water; we went about 40 hours without food.”
Gonzalo de Brito, an Argentine activist, reported violent treatment at the hands of Israelis.
yassin Benglawin, a French-moroccan activist stressed that detainees were denied access to medications and received water only after 32 hours post-arrest.
Benglawin described how sniper teams accompanied by police dogs entered detention rooms preventing activists from sleeping as part of ongoing torture measures.
Muhammad Jamal, a Kuwaiti activist involved stated they remained under direct sunlight for 12 hours between arrest sites en route to Ashdod port amid widespread mistreatment. He confirmed some activists suffered beatings and verbal abuse during this period.
