Occupation Forces Continue Actions in West Bank: From Child Arrests to Settlement Expansion
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Shehab News Agency, Palestinian sources confirmed that 19 Palestinians, including several children, were detained by Israeli forces in southern Hebron.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupation troops stormed the village of Al-Zweidin in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron in the west Bank, arresting 19 Palestinians, among them children.
Mohammad Mardawi, a leader in Hamas’s Islamic Resistance movement, highlighted that an unprecedented escalation in settlement activity has taken place since October 7, 2023. The extreme Israeli cabinet established 117 new settlement centers across the west Bank as part of a planned strategy to seize more Palestinian land and impose Judaization realities on these territories. This effort aims to advance Israel’s goals of annexation and forced displacement.
Mardawi added that this dangerous surge in settler expansion coincides with an unprecedented increase in military aggression throughout the West Bank-including raids, arrests, home demolitions, property confiscations-and suffocating sieges targeting cities, villages, and refugee camps.
he explained that these measures seek to crush Palestinian resilience and extinguish their spirit of resistance.
The Hamas official emphasized that these crimes represent a complete policy rooted in racial discrimination and are carried out with full disregard for international laws and treaties. Their objective is to empty the land of its indigenous population.
Mardawi reaffirmed that despite these assaults, the Palestinian people will persist with their resistance against settlement expansions and aggression. All occupation schemes will be shattered by Palestinians steadfastly committed to their land and identity.
