Israeli Army: Gaza War Not Over; No Ceasefire in Sight
The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Eyal Zamir, stated that the war in gaza is not over and emphasized that Israel must remain vigilant and ready to defend itself and resume fighting at any moment.
Zamir made these remarks on Sunday during a field visit to the westernmost point along the Nestarim axis. He noted that if Israeli soldiers are freed, it would be a important achievement and fulfill a key objective of the war.
He recalled that “two years ago,we experienced the most perilous event in our history” and insisted,”We are not planning to return to life before October 7.”
Continuing his comments, Zamir claimed Israel is reshaping realities across the middle East in every arena and destroying its enemies on all fronts.
The army chief added, “There is no ceasefire in Gaza; only an operational status change has taken place. If political efforts fail, we will return to combat. We will carry out our mission while preserving our troops’ lives.”
Zamir also said that Israeli military objectives include preventing Hamas from continuing its activities as both a political and military entity within Gaza.
