Hamas Delegation Arrives in Cairo to Begin Talks on Trump Plan

The ⁤Hamas movement announced⁤ the arrival‌ of its delegation in Cairo to begin negotiations on the U.S.president’s‌ Gaza plan.

According‌ to the English section of⁢ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, Hamas issued a statement confirming that a‍ delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya has arrived‌ in Cairo to start talks‌ on a ceasefire mechanism based ‌on President Donald Trump’s plan.

President Trump⁢ recently proposed ⁣a 20-point⁢ plan aimed at ending the Gaza ‍conflict. ⁢The proposal emphasizes an ⁢immediate ceasefire, ⁣the ‍release of Israeli prisoners‍ in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian ⁢detainees, Israeli troops’ withdrawal to‍ agreed-upon lines, and the establishment of an international body to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction ‌and management.

Similar to their⁣ stance over⁤ the past two years-were they consistently expressed readiness for‍ a ceasefire and acceptance of just peace terms while participating multiple times at negotiation tables-the⁤ Palestinian resistance has‍ conditionally agreed to this plan, seeking clarifications on several points.

This recent proposal by ⁣Trump appears less focused on genuine peace efforts‍ and ‌more as⁤ an attempt to free Israel⁤ from a strategic domestic and international deadlock. This is⁢ evident from how officials from various countries have interacted with Israel within⁣ platforms such as the ‍United Nations General Assembly, sports arenas, academic institutions,⁢ and legal forums.
