New Wave of Ships Approaches Gaza Strip
The International Committee to Break the Gaza Blockade reported that a new wave of ships is en route to the Gaza Strip and are currently located 294 nautical miles (545 kilometers) from Gaza, according to webangah News agency.
The Freedom Fleet Coalition announced on Friday that 11 ships continue their journey from Italy toward the Gaza Strip with the goal of breaking its blockade.
In a statement, the Freedom Fleet Coalition said these vessels have persisted in their mission despite an illegal Israeli attack on the Samoud fleet carrying humanitarian aid meant for residents of Gaza.
The statement added that these 11 Freedom Fleet ships carry around 100 passengers, including many journalists and relief workers.
Some of these ships are named Abdulkarim Eid, Al-Oudah, Alaa Al-Najar, Anas Al-Sharif, Al-Dhameer, and Ghassan Kanafani.
Last Wednesday night, Israeli forces seized 42 vessels belonging to the Global Samoud Fleet while they were sailing in international waters toward Gaza. Hundreds of international activists aboard those ships were detained.
