Germany: We Will Not Supply Weapons Used in Gaza to Israel
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Germany’s Foreign minister spoke in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, saying: “We welcome U.S.President Donald Trump’s plan, which represents the best opportunity to reach an agreement and end the war in Gaza.”
Johan Wadhavol continued: “It is indeed essential that all prisoners in Gaza, including German citizens, be released. We are closely monitoring the fate of our nationals held captive by Hamas and hope they will be freed soon.”
He emphasized Germany’s commitment to a two-state solution as the path to sustainable peace. “The reconstruction process in Gaza must begin as soon as possible,” he added.
The German foreign minister stressed: “We have decided not to deliver weapons that could be used in gaza to Israel. We urge Israel to refrain from escalating civilian suffering during its campaign against Hamas.”
Wadhavol also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s mediating role between Israel and Hamas. “We are following closely the horrific humanitarian situation in Gaza and the deaths and suffering of thousands.Our measures against Israel are effective and far exceed those of other European countries,” he said.
The official further noted: “We do not support Israel’s recent plans to seize Gaza City. Our goal is establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and delivering aid-including food, medicine, and water-to residents of the enclave.Reconstruction must start without delay.”
