Barack and CENTCOM Commander Visit Northeast Syria, Engage in Talks with SDF
The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, accompanied by the commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), traveled to northeastern Syria to hold talks with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency.
During the visit, Tom Barrett emphasized that he conducted meaningful discussions with Mazloum Abdi, commander of the SDF.
The American official also claimed progress is underway toward fulfilling former President Trump’s vision of empowering Syrians and creating opportunities for unity to achieve peace.
These assertions come amid ongoing aggression by the Israeli regime in southern Syria, while neither Washington nor Jabhat al-Nusra have taken tangible measures to counter it.
